Symptoms:
- An ache in the back of wrist
- Clicking and catching in joints
- Loss of upper arm motion
- Deep ache in the outer side of the shoulder and spreads to the outer side of upper arm
- Pain which feels like it is deep in the joint and travels down bicep and shoots down outer side of shoulder
- Numbness or tingling in fourth or fifth fingers
- Pain in the back of shoulder
- Pain in the front of the shoulder
- Weakened shoulder
Causes:
- Accidents
- Chopping wood
- Computer board without elbow supports
- Falls
- Gymnastics
- Keeping arms over head or out in front for long periods of time
- Keeping your hand on the mouse for too long
- Overexert during exercise
- Overloads at one time (moving a large couch, arms repetitive strain of overhead reaching for long periods of time or typing for long periods of time)
- Overloaded athletic activity that requires forceful flexion of the shoulder (swimming, skiing, weight lifting and ball playing, holding heavy tools, repeatedly reaching up, picking up or carrying a baby or small child)
